Terms of Service

Agreement to Terms

By using Ray ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you are using Ray on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms. "You" refers to you individually and the organization you represent, if applicable.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Ray after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

What the Service Does

Ray provides DMARC aggregate report processing, DNS record analysis, and email authentication monitoring. Specifically, Ray:

• Receives and processes DMARC aggregate reports (RUA) that you direct to us by adding our address to your DMARC DNS record
• Performs DNS lookups against domains you add to your account to check SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, and BIMI records
• Resolves source IP addresses from reports to geographic locations and network information using the MaxMind GeoLite2 database
• Provides dashboards, alerts, and an API to access the processed data

Ray does not send, receive, store, or read your email. DMARC aggregate reports contain metadata about authentication results, not message content.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for any activity that occurs under it. Ray uses passwordless authentication exclusively (passkeys and magic links). You are responsible for the email address associated with your account and for keeping your authentication devices secure.

Each person should have their own account. Sharing accounts between individuals is not permitted. Organizations can add multiple members through the organization management features.

Your Data

You own your data. We do not claim intellectual property rights over the data you send to Ray or the reports that mailbox providers generate about your domains.

You can export your data at any time through the dashboard or the API in standard formats. There are no export fees and no lock-in. You can request deletion of your data at any time, and we will comply within 30 days.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Ray responsibly. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Monitor domains you do not own or do not have authorization to monitor
• Attempt to access other users' data, accounts, or organizations
• Use the API in a way that degrades the service for other users (rate limits are published in the API documentation)
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
• Resell or sublicense access to Ray without a written agreement
• Use Ray for any purpose that violates applicable law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy. If the violation is not severe and can be corrected, we will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to fix it before taking action.

Payment and Billing

Paid plans are billed at the account level at the rates published on the pricing page. You can choose monthly or annual billing. Annual plans are billed upfront at a discounted rate.

You can upgrade your plan at any time, and the change takes effect immediately (with prorated billing for the remainder of the current period). Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period.

We will give you at least 30 days notice before any price changes take effect. Price changes do not apply retroactively to current billing periods.

Cancellation and Termination

You can cancel your account at any time through the dashboard. Upon cancellation:

• Your data is retained for 30 days so you can export anything you need
• After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law

We may terminate your account if you materially violate these terms. If we terminate your account, we will give you 30 days to export your data unless the violation requires immediate action (for example, using the service for illegal activity).

Service Availability

We work to keep Ray available and reliable, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime for all plans. Enterprise plans include a separate uptime SLA with specific availability commitments and remedies. For all other plans, the service is provided on a commercially reasonable, best-effort basis.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance of planned maintenance that may affect availability.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Ray is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Ray is a monitoring and reporting tool. We do not guarantee that your email authentication is correctly configured, that all threats will be detected, or that deliverability issues will be prevented. You are responsible for your own DNS configuration and email authentication setup.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of Ray is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, regardless of the cause of action or theory of liability.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware.
